Vivian Campbell
Belfast-born guitarist whose work on Dio's first three albums — beginning with 1983's Holy Diver — set a benchmark for melodic heavy-metal lead playing. His Les Paul into a cranked Marshall JCM800 gave Holy Diver its singing, vocal-like solos. Campbell later joined Whitesnake, reunited the Dio band as Last in Line, and has been Def Leppard's guitarist since 1992.
