Exciter
Exciter is widely cited as one of the first speed-metal songs, and its tone is built for velocity: Glenn Tipton's Gibson SG and K.K. Downing's Flying V machine-gun-picked through cranked, non-master Marshall Super Leads with a Rangemaster treble booster on the front. The sound is tight, bright and dry -- Chipping Norton tracking with no room wash to blur the fast double-picked attack.
