Lead guitarist of Halestorm, the Grammy-winning hard-rock band from Red Lion, Pennsylvania, which he joined in 2003. A self-described SG obsessive, Hottinger anchors his tone on Gibson SGs — including the 2003 SG Standard he bought new when he joined — run into vintage Marshall Super Lead plexis (a red 1971 and a purple 1973) and Bogner 4x12 cabinets loaded with Beyma Liberty speakers. His board pairs a Bogner La Grange plexi-style overdrive with a Tru-Fi Octavia fuzz, giving Halestorm's riffs and solos their raw, volume-driven Gibson-into-Marshall snarl.
