John Baizley

Frontman, rhythm guitarist, and visual artist of Savannah's Baroness -- whose hand-painted album covers are as recognizable as the band's music. Across the Red, Blue, and Yellow & Green albums Baizley pushed the band from heavy sludge toward melodic, anthemic prog-rock, swapping Gibson humbuckers for Fender single-coils run clean with pedal-driven dirt (a modded Big Muff, a Crowther Hot Cake, a Pro Co RAT). 'Take My Bones Away' became their first mainstream-rock chart single in 2012.
