Player No. 117thrash-metal

Marty Friedman

Megadeth's lead guitarist from 1990 to 2000, and the player whose exotic, Eastern-influenced scales and wide, vocal vibrato set the Rust in Peace era apart from every other thrash record. Before Megadeth he played in Hawaii and Cacophony. When he joined, he repainted his 1985 Jackson Kelly black and cut it down to one bridge humbucker and one volume knob, and that guitar is on Rust in Peace and Countdown to Extinction.
