IK Multimedia released TONEX 1.11.0 on April 2, 2026 as a free update for the entire TONEX lineup. The centerpiece is Preset Sharing on ToneNET -- a long-requested feature that lets users upload and download complete signal chains, not just individual Tone Models.

What Preset Sharing Actually Means

Until now, ToneNET let you share Tone Models -- the captured amp or pedal sounds at the core of TONEX. Presets are different. A preset is your entire rig: the Tone Model, plus any effects, cab IR choices, routing, and gain staging dialed in around it.

With 1.11.0, you can export that entire preset to ToneNET and download presets from other users or official Tone Partners the same way. Presets include song and instrument metadata, so the library is browsable by artist, song name, genre, or playing style -- not just by amp name.

The other significant practical addition: you can transfer presets directly from ToneNET to TONEX hardware without a laptop. On a gig, you can pull a community preset onto your TONEX Pedal or TONEX ONE from your phone. That is a meaningfully more useful workflow than the previous method, which required going through the desktop app.

Redesigned Signal Chain UI

Version 1.11.0 also ships a visual overhaul of the signal chain editor. Modules now use a skeuomorphic, pedal-style look rather than the previous generic block layout. Preset lists and cards display color-coded, labeled icons representing the effects in the chain at a glance -- useful for identifying presets quickly when you have a large library.

The underlying functionality is the same, but the redesign should make the software feel more intuitive for players coming from a pedal-first background.

New Signature Collections

Alongside the update, IK has added new Signature Collection presets built around artists and brands including Joe Satriani, Gus G., Alex Lifeson, MESA/Boogie, and ENGL. These are available directly through ToneNET and are browsable in the new preset sharing system like any other community preset.

Compatibility

The 1.11.0 update and ToneNET preset sharing work across the full TONEX ecosystem:

  • TONEX (Mac/PC software) -- full preset creation, upload, and download
  • TONEX Mobile (iOS/Android) -- browse and download presets, transfer to hardware
  • TONEX Pedal -- receive presets via mobile or desktop
  • TONEX ONE -- receive presets via mobile or desktop
  • TONEX Plug -- full preset library access within the plugin

This includes the free TONEX CS tier. You do not need a paid TONEX or TONEX SE license to access and use community presets from ToneNET. You do need a paid license to create and upload your own presets or to use more than the CS preset slot limit.

Getting the Update

Update through IK Product Manager. The update is available now for macOS and Windows. Firmware updates for TONEX Pedal and TONEX ONE can be pushed through the TONEX app or desktop software after updating to 1.11.0.

For TONEX users who primarily relied on ToneNET for Tone Models, this update significantly expands what the platform offers. A well-dialed community preset is a faster starting point than building from a raw capture, and the ability to push it to hardware from a phone closes the last gap in IK's workflow story.
