His tone identity is built on a 1961 Gibson SG nicknamed 'The Beloved' run into cranked Marshall amplification through a Rangemaster-style germanium treble booster — a heavily Jimmy Page / Led Zeppelin-influenced classic-rock-revival sound that earned him a signature Gibson SG. Greta Van Fleet won the 2019 Grammy for Best Rock Album for 'From the Fires,' the EP that carried their breakout #1 rock single 'Highway Tune.'
