Player No. 119alternative

Rivers Cuomo

Weezer's singer, songwriter and guitarist. On the 1994 Blue Album he re-recorded every guitar part himself after Jason Cropper left, mostly on guitars borrowed from producer Ric Ocasek, Les Paul Junior Specials and a Jaguar, through his Mesa/Boogie Mark I into a Marshall cab. The rules were all downstrokes, bridge pickup and no reverb, and that dry, thick power-pop crunch became the template for a decade of alternative rock.
