Interstate Love Song
The jangling clean intro that opens Stone Temple Pilots' biggest hit. Dean DeLeo tracked the arpeggiated figure on a vintage Fender Telecaster through a clean Vox AC30, with an S.I.B. VariDrive tube pedal nudged in for warmth — the one effect documented on the intro. The heavier chorus switched to his '57 Gibson Les Paul TV Special and a Demeter-into-VHT rig. Recorded at Southern Tracks in Atlanta with Brendan O'Brien, in Eb standard tuning.
