Falling Away from Me
The lead single from Issues, opening with a clean arpeggio that drops into Korn's signature low-tuned slam. Munky and Head ran modified Ibanez Universe 7-strings — not the K7, which didn't arrive until 2001 — into Mesa/Boogie Triple Rectifiers, tuned to A-standard (A-D-G-C-F-A-D). The voice is maxed bass, scooped-to-zero mids, and a wall of gain, tracked to analog tape by Brendan O'Brien. The contrast of the clean neck-pickup intro against the percussive chug is the whole song.
