I Miss the Misery

The swaggering hard-rock single from Halestorm's 2012 album The Strange Case Of... Joe Hottinger built his tone the old-fashioned way: a Gibson SG straight into cranked Marshall Super Lead plexis and a Bogner 4x12 loaded with Beyma speakers. The main riff is raw, mid-forward plexi crunch; the lead gets the snarl of a Tru-Fi Octavia fuzz on top. Loud guitar into a loud amp -- volume is the effect. Standard E.
