Sacred the Thread

Greta Van Fleet's 'Sacred the Thread' from 2023's Starcatcher, produced by Dave Cobb at historic RCA Studio A in Nashville. Jake Kiszka deliberately abandoned his Marshall stacks for this record -- 'it just moves so much air' -- and tracked entirely on combo amps: a blonde Fender Bassman, a Vox AC30, a silverface Princeton and a Magnatone Twilighter, captured with a multi-distance mic blend. The reverb is the room itself. His 1961 Gibson SG, standard tuning.
